Smithsonian National Postage Museum

Arago is a resource to the study of philately and postal operations as seen through the National Postal Museum's collection.

The online database of the National Postal Museum, Arago, was named in honor of the French physicist, astronomer and politician, François Arago (1786-1853). A friend of James Smithson (benefactor of the Smithsonian Institution), Arago believed that science and available technologies should be used to advance public knowledge and improve everyday life. Renowned as a scientist, he was also a humanitarian who used his political roles to introduce social reforms – the abolition of slavery, universal manhood suffrage, and the education of the lower classes – not only in France but also in its colonial possessions.

Movie Mogul

Everyone has their opinion about whether a movie will suck or not. Watching the previews before your feature presentation you turn over to your friend and say " that is going to bomb, why'd they even make it".
There is a new fantasy movie website which will allow you to be a movie mogul. It is similar to fantasy football leagues. With Fantasy Moguls, you can flex your inner executive skills to call the biggest money making movies.

Do they have an option to lower the damn movie ticket prices? That would be my first move to get more people going.

If I were running a movie theater, I would create buzz. How? By setting up certain movies at a certain time to be free. Hence, bringing in more movie goers who otherwise might pass on the movies (since they are quite pricey these days). This allows them to free up some cash for concessions which are the theaters main cash source.

Yes, I'd take a hit on movie tickets, but I would make up for it in customer relationships with MY theater. Creating a reputation of not being a money hungry theater and building customer trust and word of mouth buzz.

My only hope would be that these customers who see the flick free, would come back another time to see it again or to be the first choice to see a movie at. Movie theaters seem to be lost on what to do to make money. It doesn't seem that difficult. Take risks.

Last.fm

Last.fm is the flagship product from the team that designed the Audioscrobbler music engine. More than ten million times a day, Last.fm users "scrobble" their tracks to our servers, helping to collectively build the world's largest social music platform.

It's a pretty good way to listen to NEW music, if you've lost access to Yahoo's music IM service. Unfortunately, you can't really choose specific songs to listen to, however, it plays pretty good music in general. The company is based out of London. Thanks.
